L2000DX Reagents - 2-STEP SOIL EXTRACTION (LP-SR2)
Test Reagents for PCB and Other Chlorinated Hydrocarbons in Soil.
Some soils, such as wet clays, pose an extraction problem with most extraction solvents on the market today. If the extraction solvent cannot solvate the soil and remove the contaminate efficiently, an underestimation of the contaminate may occur. The L2000DX Two-Step Soil Extraction is an added dilution step used in conjunction with the standard L2000DX soil reagents. The 2-step method allows difficult soils to be solvated more efficiently for accurate and reliable results. In a recent study, the two-step method was used to extract PCB from lacustrine clay. When compared to a soxhlet extraction method, the 2-step method had an extraction efficiency of >78%. The extraction efficiency reported using this new solvent system surpassed extraction efficiencies reported with other field screening methods.
